10 Random Blogs from the Directory : Blankest Blank
July 31st 2007 · Posted by Bobby Griffin · Comments
One of the things I hated most about my old blogspot domain was having this huge directory of blogs, but not being able to do anything with them, because I couldn’t enter them into any sort of database for easy access. I had to type all of them out by hand (ok, I copied and pasted, but still!)
So, now that I’ve moved over, I can do anything I want! I’ve started a new free link exchange blog directory and this one has a twist. Going with the “Blankest Blank” theme (where the directory is hosted) and coincidently the name of this blog…all blogs in the directory have the form “The Blankest Blog”. For example, some of the entries we’ve had have been The Sweetest Blog, The Most Ambitious Blog, and The Best Computer Generated Blog. The actual name of the blog can be seen by hovering over the link, FYI.
I’ve also gone and wrote a script that include a random 10 of these blogs over in the sidebar here at Bestest Blog. So, every time you visit (or even just reload a page), there’s 10 new blogs for you to check out. I’ve encouraged people to be as creative as they could with their naming, and a lot of them have. A collection of 5 random blogs also appears on the Blankest Blank home page.
So, if you’re not already in the blog directory, join now! It’s a free link (in the directory itself) and random exposure in two other places. I hope you all approve of this awesome addition!!

What I want to know is how are you getting all these visitors to Fechr if you’ve just launched the site?

Combination of things…forum posts, blog posts, comments on other people’s blogs, obviously the blogger buzz, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, del.icio.us, Bidvertiser…I guess that’s most of it!

Agreed with Bobby. I find that the best way to generate visitors is to take the time to post quality comments on other peoples blogs.
I’ve even found this great site Link Referral where you can have your blog at the top of a directory and you get ratings and what not.

Yeah I do try to do all those things, it’s just so time consuming to keep up with everything.

Hi Bob.. I’m just curious.. by moving your blogspot to your own domain, do you get a PR5 immediately?
July 31st, 2007 at 11:10 pm
Hi Doris! Thanks for stopping by…no, I certainly didn’t get PR5 automatically. Though my blog was hosted at blogspot, I actually had it set up with this custom domain. So, my files were hosted there, but the browser address bar said “http://www.bestestblog.com/”. I already have around 5000 incoming links to this site…

It sure is an addiction but one that needs lots of time, time that’s sometimes elusive. Thanks for helping us feed this addiction
Bob.
