As soon as I read today’s blog was the Latest Travel Photography Blog I was really excited to dig right in! That’s right, Notes From Different Spots, (the blog’s “official name”) takes you around the world from the comfort of your desktop!
What can I say about this blog other than it contains some of the most breathtaking photography I have ever seen. It’s really hard to do justice to these photos with words. It’s like telling someone about a really amazing piece of music, that you just have to hear to really experience. I cannot urge everyone out there enough to please visit this site at least once. Seeing these photos from New York, to Mali, and everything inbetween, you have to see it to believe it.

Meet Elizabeth and her family. She is a great mom, with a fantastic blog and a huge heart, thus I think the moniker “Best Mommy Blog” is righteously appropriate.
I’m not even talking about her participation in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk or her offer to help anyone who needed to set up a wordpress account and didn’t know how. I’m talking about her amazing strength after an incredible battle with a stomach virus and the remarkable love she has for her family.
This blog is the work of a wonderful giving mother who offers this at the end of her About Page:
Thank you for reading this “About” page.
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me.
If you’ve read it, I would love if you would go to my most recent post and leave a comment telling me.
Then I’ll come to your blog and do the same for you!
And then we will be BBFs forever.
…and I urge you to actually take her up on that! You will definitely not be disappointed. I’m also glad to see that at least one other person in the entire world actually liked “Thirteen Ghosts.” I knew I couldn’t be the only fool! Thanks for letting us all get to know you Elizabeth and keep up the great work!

When you think of “The Bratty-ist Blog,” I’m sure the furthest thing from your mind is a mom with a 16-month old. However, I work with children all day long and I’m sure “Bratty” is the kindest word used to describe me at the end of the day! Our brat for today though is a self-proclaimed “…Application Engineer for a major computer company in my city…single mother to a son born in May of 2006…pet owner, lover and animal rights proponent.”
This blog is another great glimpse into the life of a very special person. Among the usual personal postings about that bad day that seems to hang over your head, or the newest baby fads, you will find fun contests tucked away!
Yes, right now you can win one of several prizes, such as an MP3 player! Here are the rules:
The Rules:
* You must link to this entry
* You must comment with a link to your entry
* Write one entry about an act of random kindness that you have performed or had performed for you by someone else. Minimum length is 50 words.
What a great idea! Make sure to get your submissions in by October 10th! Thanks again to our “Brat” for such a real and thoughtful glimpse into your life!

Today’s blog comes to us by way of Pookie, elsewise known as Brian at Emasculating Nickname. Brian is a 30-something who obviously enjoys a great laugh! Brian’s blog is a great place to check out some of the most hilarious and “head scratching” stuff on the internet. While browsing for 10 minutes, I found the following internet gems:
A ridiculous muppet show clip
Some of the most realistic paintings ever.
To really think about the phrase Ogre Nougat.
That last article really made me question my own existence after uttering the phrase “ogre nougat” over and over and over…You just may have something there Brian…If anyone out there needs a good laugh or a “what the…?” moment in their life (and we all do) please do yourself a favor and check out Brian’s blog, chock full of goodies.

Gaijin Girl is a wonderful blog written by it’s host Lady Wanderlust. At it’s moment of conception Lady Wanderlust was a newlywed waiting to make a year-long journey overseas from Sunny North Carolina, to the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan. Her purpose was to teach English with her husband, and her whereabouts were to remain unknown for several days to come. This is how it all began.
Now, almost a year later, we find out why it’s almost impossible to quit your job in Japan, and the fact that Japanese women apparently aren’t so big on the drinkin’. Although some of the posts are rather whimsical (what do you expect from a blog? It’s the every day stuff that counts), there are some real insights into American culture immersed in Japanese culture. Often I’ve heard that Japanese people are fascinated with the “American West,” however I find myself the opposite as well. I’ve made it my life’s goal to learn the language (although apparently it’s very difficult) and travel there some day. This leaves me hugely jealous of Lady Wanderlust and her husband!
The most interesting thing is to read her 6 month recap, that documents her thoughts before moving there and then six months after moving there. I must say of all the blogs I’ve read in my life, this definitely ranks up there in the top 5. Thank you Lady Wanderlust for letting me live vicariously in your shoes, as it may be the closest I’ll ever get to living my dream.

3 Blessings a Day is a wonderful blog by Leanna, “a wife, mother, daughter, and sister [trying] to make a comforting and welcoming home for my family and friends.” Now I come from a very artistic background and my fiancee comes from a family of genuine artists, so today’s blog is a real treat for me!
Leanna explores the joys of painting watercolor portraits. The first portrait I stumbled upon while exploring this site is entitled Fall Fenceline. This really had me reflective upon my favorite season. The Fall has always been a time for me to rethink my life, remember the times with my friends and generally just become reflective. This portrait encompasses all those things for me and more.
My favorite part of this blog however is defintely the “Unconscious Mutterings” section where you take one word and then write out the first thing that comes to mind. Here’s an example from Leanna:
1. Rita :: Hayworth
2. Comedy :: laugh
3. Polar :: bear
4. Idiots :: stupid
5. Perception :: view
6. Infected :: sick
7. Fake :: deceiving
8. Relating :: understood
9. Distraction :: off-course
10. Gamble :: risk
Thanks for the memories and reflections that your blog has inspired in me. I plan on taking up to my muse (music) and maybe making something you can enjoy in exchange! Either way I’ll be visiting your blog quite frequently. I could use more peace and reflection in my life, for sure.

“The Funniest Blog” might not be the first thought that comes into your head when you think of Dating Profile of the Day. However, the description is dead on, so if you’re looking for a place to meet singles, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for some hilarious things people have placed in real ads, that’s a different story.
You may recognize author Mimi Lenox as the Founder of the Peace Globe Movement, which is a really amazing thing that you should all check out if you’re unfamiliar with it. On the lighter side of the spectrum Mimi brings us something completely different with her weekly “Comeback Challenge,” where members of the blogosphere write in their responses to some of the most ridiculous (and real, mind you) singles ads.
Reading some of these responses made me laugh harder than I have laughed in a long time, especially this one from Anyhow Blogs:
9. Need To Be Compleated
__ N W A N T E D. All they need is U.
Keep up the amazing work Mimi, I’ve found a new blog that I’ll be frequenting! If you haven’t check out this blog yet, what are you waiting for?

When you call yourself the “Laugh Out Loudest” Blog and include the header tag line “your prescription for humor,” you’re setting yourself up to either deliver the goods or fail miserably. Luckily, Bobbarama (or Bob for short) ends up being the former.
My favorite part of this blog is how Bob has a categorized “Fan Favorites” section, featuring articles such as “Time-sucks”, “Take Two,” where Bob and a guest blogger go head to head on various topics, and quite frankly my favorite, “Real Men of Genius,” featuring mp3’s of Bud Light’s famous commercials.
If you have an appetite for weird internet stuff, then this is certainly the place for you! My only advice is that you should have a lot of free time on your hands before venturing into the realm of this blog. So get yourself a job where you can surf the web all day and read up on this blog, you’ll be sure to impress your friends with all your newfound knowledge! Thanks for doing all the work for me Bob and congrats on the award today!

Today I make my Blog Reviewing debut, as Bobby and I have swapped categories to spice things up a bit and what a day to start! Scribble on the Wall is a great site for interesting information from the furthest reaches of the internet to your own backyard, Marisa probably has something to say about it!
Although she writes about the newest technologies, including some advice on getting the most out of your new computer (or an old one that needs some serious resuscitation, as is the case with mine) and tweaking windows so it’s less likely to piss you off, don’t think she’s a stranger to the blog scene.
No, Marisa has been blogging since 2000, starting with a LiveJournal, before moving to her own domain, hosted by Bestest Blog host, BlueHosting. I know I’ve learned a few tips and tricks of my own from reading this and think I’m gonna get mighty comfy in my “new position” reviewing the blogs. Thanks to Bobby for switiching and Marisa for being a great first blog! Congrats!

“This blog is about politics, sex, art, celebrities, making money and everything else.” That is this blog’s own description written by blogger Michael Bridges and this awesome blog is That Says It All.
Well gee Mike, if you are gonna put “and everything else in there” you could have written “This blog is about orange juice, numbers, wrestling, Oprah, and everything else.” Though, I guess Mike’s version has a certain ring to it, a certain general appeal to things people like to read about. Whatever he’s writing about though, it is always very interesting!

It always seems like the MondayBest Blog winners are a step above the others. Maybe everyone is up all weekend voting and making sure the most excellent blogs win. Well, this Monday is no exception…today’s winner is Gator Byte.
Gator Byte is not only the name of blogger Chris’s blog, it’s also the name of his Computer and Electronics Shop in Port Maitland. Chris blogs a lot about the ups and downs of his business and it’s really interesting.
So right there, you already know Chris knows a lot about computers, and that definitely carries over into his blog. He gives advice on topics related to anyone who uses a computer like the importance of RAM, surge protectors, and pirated software vs. legal software. Another cool thing I just wanted to quickly mention is a cool plugin on each post that counts the number of words…definitely a good thing if you are doing PayPerPost!

Today’s blogger is truly an inspiration to us all. He is a Malaysian that goes by the name of Arahman and he blogs about his recovery from alcohol abuse. His blog is entitled the Journey to Recovery.
Most of the blogs that get featured here are happy-go-lucky fun reads. If that’s all your interested in, then this blog is not for you. It is excellent in its own right, but definitely different from what we are used to in a blog. Read about Arahman’s decision to save his own life. Enough said, an excellent and eye-opening read!

The title of this post kinda reminds me of that old song from the 90’s: “Whoa-o-o, the sweetest blog.” Polliwog is a mother of 6 and does in fact kind of live in a pond. Well, she lives on an island, a 45 minute ferry ride into the main land. This isn’t some big Hawaii island either…there’s no shopping malls, fast food restaurants. Lucky for Polli’s readers, there is internet, and so we get to experience her “sweet” blog.
One of the posts I absolutely had to write about here is a recent meme Polli did entitled Blog Libs…kinda like those old Mad Lib “Fill in the Blanks to Create a Funny Story” books. In this version though, instead of random words in the blanks, you fill it in with the names of other blogs and bloggers and blog posts (and link to them in the process). This is a great way to have a fun post that links to your friends and I congratulate Polli for taking the time (and having enough friends) to make a really entertaining Blog Lib. You HAVE GOT TO CHECK IT OUT! It’s totally sweet!

Today’s winner is a blog by Stephanie Davies. She is a self-employed work at home mom who runs the company Hosting WAHMs. She seems to do it all for this place: website/blog design, html coding, PHP coding, banner and logo design, advertising, search engine optimization, and ghostwriting. It’s no wonder if she does all that professionally for other people that she’d have a kickass blog for herself. It’s Deltree Life!
Wow, you gotta check this one out for yourself. Amazing design, amazing writing, just amazing!

Sometimes the blogger’s description of their own blog is better than I could ever come close to. So here it is for today’s winner, The Texas RV Travel Blog: Texas Travel with native Texan. Enjoy birding, spring-fed rivers, scenic byways, historical sites, wildflowers, backroads, parks, forts, missions and larger-than-life Texans. RV optional.
Texas is a huge state (2nd biggest only to spacious Alaska), so it’s not surprising that there is a ton of things to do. For example, the 8th Annual Renewable Energy Roundup, Antique Show and Sale, and the Corpus Christi BayFest. All of these events are blogged about BEFORE they happen. So if you live in or around Texas or plan to visit, this is an excellent place to find ideas for fun things to do. Excellent blog!

Well, when you call yourself “The Best Audio Engineering Blog,” you certainly don’t have too much competition. But what do you expect from a 24 year old audio guru and his self-titled blog Mic Man (pronounced “mike man,” you know like a microphone…this is almost certainly an obvious fact, but for whatever reason I keep reading it as “mick man” to myself.)
What I like best about this blog (besides all the cool audio stuff and writing about his Macbook) is the amount of free special offers he passes on to his readers. I’m not sure where he collects all these offers from! Here is a collection of links for free Shania Twain perfume, free Dunkin Donuts Coffee, free Nicorette gum, free Listerine whitening, free Curves Cereal, and free Aveeno Positively Ageless. Here’s another for free Aquafresh toothpaste, free Neutrogena, free Pork Chomps dog treats, free Kashi GoLean bar, and free Pantene Expressions. I’m not sure if all these offers are still valid. But you should check out Mic Man more regularly, because he seems to ALWAYS be finding links to this stuff!

This person opted to give their blog the title of “Most Awesome.” However, if I was picking the name, I might have gone with “The Cheesiest Blog.” It’s Memoirs of a Gouda!
Well, this blog isn’t really about cheese (though that would go nice with The Tastiest Blog winner from a few days ago). No, Gouda is just the nickname of the blogger, Allie D, who made the site. Though, if you were really hoping for a post mentioning cheese, you can check out this one.
Allie is a wonderful and entertaining blogger with a lot to say. She is a mother, so there are definitely a lot of cute posts about her kids. The rest of her posts though, are pretty random. From Christian Soldiers to Brittney Spears and everything in between!

A lot of blogs use pictures and videos and widgets and chicklets and other junk to make their page sparkle and stand out from the others. This one, on the other hand, claims to be “The Best Words Blog” which is the heart of all blogging after all. It’s Author! Author! by blogger Lexa Roséan.
Lexa is a published author (no small feat) so right off the bat you know she’s pretty good with words as she claims. She uses her blog to share her edgier, more interesting, albeit still unpublished works of literature. For example, here is the beginning of a novel called Exodus the most recent body of work on Lexa’s blog. It’s a scandalous tale about a Jew being excommunicated for being gay. Here are chapters 2, 3, 4, and most recently 5! Enjoy!

In the mid-80’s, it must’ve become really hard to have the name Mario in the US or Japan without someone associating you to the video game. Does today’s blog have to do with Super Mario? No. Is the blogger named Mario? Yes. Is the blog about video games? No. Is it a great read nonetheless? Yes. It’s Mario’s Blog!
Sometimes if the blogger in question is an interesting person, that’s all it takes to make an entertaining blog. Reverse that, and I’d have to say based on all the entertaining posts, Mario must be a really fun guy. Like his post with a video where a chimp has learned to play Pac Man (the only video game related post I saw). Or his thoughts about violence in today’s sports, complete with video examples (which sparked a discussion of over 200 comments). Mario is not making posts just for the hell of it, he’s writing about things HE finds interesting and putting the time into it to make us enjoy it too. Maybe he is super Mario after all [sorry for the corniness].

You might think “tasty” might not make a lot of sense when describing a blog. But let me tell you that it absolutely makes sense in this case. I’m talking about Teaswap - Tea reviews and more.
I’m not a big fan of tea, so this blog didn’t immediately appeal to me personally, but I can, without a doubt, see how it would definitely appeal to any fan, large or small, of tea. Sometimes theBest Blogs are the ones that remain focused…the ones that pick a topic, stick to it, and become a leading blogging authority on that topic. Most blogs out there fall into the “Jack of all trades, master of none category,” but not this one. If you want a blog that’s gonna give you some tasty tea reviews, then you cannot and will not find a better one than this.
Here is just a sampling of the extensive collection of tasty tea recipes, reviews, and ideas compiled by blogger Stephanie Davies: Warm Spirit Sunlight Tea, Tazo Calm Tea, Yogi Tea Ginger Raspberry, Elegant Bamboo Tea Pot.
