Thank you all for your comments and concerns. I just wanted to take a break from revamping the site (Much needed, I may add) to address your comments. First and foremost, we love you guys! Without you, this site would obviously cease to function and serve its purpose. That said, I know my vision was always to go above and beyond the blogging community to appeal to the overall internet community. In that process converting non-bloggers to bloggers and expanding bloggers scope of interest. Hence, the categories. I’ll be the first to admit that I am by no means of the word a blogger, which is why I liked the idea of having other categories.
Secondly, I never wished for it to come across that I was bummed about having only 4,000 visitors. I’m am hugely ecstatic at the numbers we’ve seen on this site! It is by far the most successful endeavor into creating a website I have ever been involved. My point of saying that was that there was a MONUMENTAL difference in blog traffic & website traffic. That being said, it should be the website (the main goal of the endeavor) that drives the Blog (the secondary goal of the endeavor)…not the reverse. What that says to me is that we are loudly reaching the blogosphere community and not reaching the overall internet community. Which is why we needed a revamp.
All that being said Blankest Blank 2.0 is coming along better than I could have ever imagined! Everything is so much easier to navigate and the whole process is way clearer. I think everyone will be happy with the changes we have made and thank you all again for being part of this whole crazy thing. To address Bestestblog…there are a number of reasons it did work (which we’ve tried to expand on) and a number of reasons it failed and caused a whole bunch of stir in Bobby’s life & reputation. I’m not going into details but some of it was outlandish & false rumors, other things were true and needed to be stifled. Thus the logical progression was to start over and keep what worked and learn from what caused the problems.
Thanks again for all the support and we whole-heartedly look forward to the big reveal!

Well as you may or may not have all noticed, we have not been posting much content lately. The fact of the matter is the site has grown astronomically, and we can’t keep up on the advertising end. The result is having over 61,000 visitors to this blog for the month of September, and less than 4,000 visitors to BlankestBlank.com.
So what does that all mean? That means that while people are tremendously interested in the end results, we just aren’t getting enough votes/nominations to fuel the daily feed. As much as I enjoy writing blog posts each day, I must admit some of the content (specifically MFG and Video) has been lacking in the creative department.
The solution to this matter is that Bobby and I have decided to “take off” the month of October (meaning no daily posts here, other than updates) and really focus on Blankest Blank 2.0. This will result in a much more functional layout, as well as giving us more tools to attract more return visitors. Since it’s inception, Bobby has gone on to obtain a job as a PHP coder/web developer, and I have quadrupled my knowledge of Illustrator/Photoshop. We think that with a little time, energy, sweat and tears, we can help make this site even better, more professional and more appealing.
With this in mind we ask & urge (read: beg & plead with) you to send in any helpful ideas you might have to make this website better. The more we grow and the better we become, the more you, the user get out of the site. So if you have anything you want to add, feel free to post it here, or blankestblank@gmail.com.
The exciting news is that we are coming back and better than ever! You heard us talk about it, now it becomes a reality: MONTHLY CATEGORIES! That’s right, now you winners go on to compete head-to-head with the cream of the crop each month to determine who is truly the best.

Also, stay tuned for more information about Blankest Blank’s first ever, Best Halloween Costume Contest! (More details to follow!)
Thanks for hanging in there with us and we look forward to an amazing future at Blankest Blank and Bestest Blog!

Just wanted to keep you all posted on what’s going on, for anyone looking for the results for today. Bobby and I have decided to do a weekly recap on the weekends and keep the voting to Monday - Friday. Sorry that I’m so late in posting this clarification but it’s been a hectic (in a good way) weekend with my fiancee’s bridal shower this today. (It’s about two months until our wedding.) Long story short, Bobby is one of my groomsmen and he and his wife came to NJ for the weekend. All in all a good time!
Look for the Weekend Recap tomorrow, where we’ll give you a recap of what happened last week and keep posted for more new voting results!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop a line and let you know I’ve been hard at work on some site design over at Blankest Blank! We now have a logo (courtesy of my father-in-law, who I thank for doing the work for free
) Please drop a line and let me know what you think of it and the rest of the site design. The logo is currently up on the Main page and the Voting pages and I’ll be working all afternoon to get it up and running on the rest of the pages. I’ve got a lot of big plans for the site to make it a bit more user friendly. I’ve been doing little things every day (most of you probably haven’t even noticed, which is good as it means I haven’t interrupted the traffic flow too much) but my schedule has been crazily hectic. Anyway, be sure to drop by Blankest Blank and let me know your thoughts! As always, all the best until the next.

So, I’ve installed the WordPress plugin for readers to easily subscribe to comments via email, and it’s working great! I’d recommend it to anyone with WordPress who wants to encourage readers to return regularly and spark further comment section discussion.
My problem is this: do I check or uncheck the subscribe button box by default? Checking it makes it really easy for people to subscribe without putting an unnecessary step between them and comments by email. On the other hand, if it is checked by default, someone might get sick of unchecking it every time and be discouraged from leaving future comments.
What do you guys think? I started off with it checked, but have since changed my mind and now it’s unchecked. I just can’t decide!!

As many of you have noticed, we’ve decided to temporarily take down the forums in an effort to focus more clearly on one thing at a time. Keeping this in mind, we thought the blog would be a much better (and more easily regulated) venue to keep you updated on BlankestBlank, Fechr and other related site news….However, I’d really like to hear your thoughts on the whole ordeal. Any of you really attached to the forum or want to make a case against it? We’re still up in the air! Leave us a comment and let us know how YOU feel!

Feedburner is an awesome tool for optimizing your feed for your readers. A feed is an excellent way to maintain a reader base.
Sure anyway can get a few visitors to check out their blog once or twice, but a well placed, easy to reach, easy to activate feed keeps those few visitors coming back. You’ll notice that my feed count is already at 137 (and rising!), this is because I was able to combine my FeedBlitz account (email subscriptions) into my FeedBurner account (RSS subscriptions).
So, as I give this advice to you, I am actually using it myself by promoting by own feed. So, join the 137, won’t you?

Hello everyone, this is Kevin here and I just wanted to take a moment to thank Bobby for the kind introduction. I hope, in time, to interact with you all on a more personal level as we continue to get the ball rolling on these sites. I must say that I’m very impressed with how quickly this has all taken off. I hope you are all enjoying the site as much as I am in making it. If there’s anything you want to see on the site (layout or otherwise), leave a comment or send an e-mail to me at velvetomatoe@gmail.com and we’ll continue to do our best in making your suggestions a reality. That’s all for now, just wanted to post a quick ‘Hello’ and let you all know I really do exist! Stay tuned for more soon!
-Kevin

Since I decided to reformat Bestest Blog here, and launch the start ups of Blankest Blank and Fechr, I have referred in passing to a person I had working with me named Kevin. Well, now that the new and improved Bestest Blog is up and running, I think it’s high time that I introduce Kevin.
Kevin and I have been friends for a VEEERY long time. We met in 7th grade (1995) and have been friends since. Wow, that’s half my life, I didn’t even realize it was that long until I just typed it out. We went to the same middle school and high school in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and then completely by chance lived about a half hour away from each other, a state away in New Jersey (until about a month ago).
We both had a strong interest in computers as teenagers, and these three sites are not the first project we’ve worked on together. A lot of the sites we made in high school have been taken down, but I was able to find this one. It’s a team site for an online paintball game we used to play (I am Compeler and Kevin is Respector within the list of players). As you can see we’ve come along way since 2000. And to preempt your questions…yes I did scan that can of Cherry Coke with my own scanner (Google images didn’t exist yet!)
Kevin graduated with a degree in Music Business from Marywood University in 2005. Today, Kevin still lives in NJ (though I have moved to Maryland). He works as an office manager at a performing arts studio. He’s engaged to a lovely girl named Angelica and they are very busy planning their October wedding (in which I’ll be a groomsmen…we’ll be sure to post pictures!)
Back to web sites…Kevin is much better in the design aspects of things (which you can see by the fact that my Blogspot Bestest Blog template was not at all assisted by him). It’s also been great to have a partner to bounce ideas off and vice versa. Kevin will also be joining Bestest Blog here as a regular poster (hopefully I can convince him to get something up later today). [side note: this is particularly good news for any of you who were frustrated by how much PayPerPost I was doing at my old blog since PPP does not allow blogs with multiple authors]
So, please welcome Kevin into the Bestest Blog community!

You’re at the new home of BestestBlog.com! If you’re looking for the old stuff, don’t worry, it’s still hosted at my blogspot domain: http://bestestblogofalltime.blogspot.com.
In the upcoming days, this blog will transition into a place to talk about my two newest blog promotion sites Blankest Blank and Fechr, not to mention a never ending source of better blogging tips. If you’re unfamiliar with these two sites let me tell you about them.
Blankest Blank
Fill in the blanks: Best Blog, Funniest Joke, Funniest Video, Most Fun Game, and more! You nominate your favorites, you vote on the nominations, and we give you the results, DAILY, right here on this blog. To get in the running for the dailyBest Blog award (and get a free link back!), you need to join the Blankest Blank Blog Directory. For the other nominations, you can embed your favorite game or video on your blog, type out your favorite joke, and nominate other sites too! There’s no rule that says you can’t nominate sites other than your own if they have great content worth nominating! Got more questions about how it works? Leave a comment or check out the FAQ
Fechr
Fechr.com (pronounced feature) is a new site with a simple idea. 1 site, 1 day, 100+ visitors! Every day, at around midnight EST, a new site is “fechr-ed” on the home page. Get featured is FREE for a limited time! Once we have built the traffic to this site to over an average 500 visitors per day, we’re going to start charging a modest $5.00 (1 penny per visitor) to be featured…except for once a week on “Free Fechr Friday” where we’ll continue spreading the free web site promotion! If you want to get in line for a free feature (and again, get another free link back!), it’s as easy as submitting to the buzz directory. Questions? Again, leave a comment or check out the Fechr.com About Page.
I specialize in bringing traffic to those who deserve it and that’s exactly what these two sites (along with this blog) intend to do! So if you think you deserve it, just stick with me and we’ll get you some.
