Taking a break.. : Site News

Thank you all for your comments and concerns. I just wanted to take a break from revamping the site (Much needed, I may add) to address your comments. First and foremost, we love you guys! Without you, this site would obviously cease to function and serve its purpose. That said, I know my vision was always to go above and beyond the blogging community to appeal to the overall internet community. In that process converting non-bloggers to bloggers and expanding bloggers scope of interest. Hence, the categories. I’ll be the first to admit that I am by no means of the word a blogger, which is why I liked the idea of having other categories.
Secondly, I never wished for it to come across that I was bummed about having only 4,000 visitors. I’m am hugely ecstatic at the numbers we’ve seen on this site! It is by far the most successful endeavor into creating a website I have ever been involved. My point of saying that was that there was a MONUMENTAL difference in blog traffic & website traffic. That being said, it should be the website (the main goal of the endeavor) that drives the Blog (the secondary goal of the endeavor)…not the reverse. What that says to me is that we are loudly reaching the blogosphere community and not reaching the overall internet community. Which is why we needed a revamp.
All that being said Blankest Blank 2.0 is coming along better than I could have ever imagined! Everything is so much easier to navigate and the whole process is way clearer. I think everyone will be happy with the changes we have made and thank you all again for being part of this whole crazy thing. To address Bestestblog…there are a number of reasons it did work (which we’ve tried to expand on) and a number of reasons it failed and caused a whole bunch of stir in Bobby’s life & reputation. I’m not going into details but some of it was outlandish & false rumors, other things were true and needed to be stifled. Thus the logical progression was to start over and keep what worked and learn from what caused the problems.
Thanks again for all the support and we whole-heartedly look forward to the big reveal!

So basically what you are saying is that the blogs are secondary and really only there to drive traffic to the other site which, frankly is some bizarre use car salesmaneque mishmash of stuff that is neither user friendly or oriented.

Not at all. What I’m saying is that the website drives the blog and vice versa. It’s a symbiotic relationship and should be equal as our blog derives most of its content from the website. Every one of our categories is equal in my mind. If the blogs are driving ALL of the traffic, I’m doing something wrong. Hence the revamp, to make it more user-friendly (I promise!)

I for one loved the Bestest Blog. I have no idea what went on over there except it seemed he became too successful and he could not devote the time it was begining to demand. I looked forward to the expanding community that was developing over there. The exposure to new blogs and the sense of community. I find that lacking in this web site. I guess I have missed the point of internet vrs. bloggers. And I hope you do succeed in making this blog easier to navigate. I can not make heads nor tails out of it.

For instance, I just went over ther and checked out “the best travel blogs” blogs, as in plural and only one blog pops up each time!
